New Maxin Accessibility Statement

Maxin understands accessibility issues for web users with disabilities and has developed this website to internationally-recognised standards.

As part of W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative, we have developed the Maxin website to conform to the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0", level Triple-A. These standards are aimed at making it as easy as possible for disabled and visually impaired people to use the web.

If you have any concerns about accessibility issues with this website, please contact us with your comments and we will do our best to address any problems.

Access Keys

Access keys are a navigation device that enable you to jump to different sections of content on the New Maxin website using your keyboard. The following access keys are available:

Please follow instructions below based on your browser and whether you are a PC or Mac user.

Internet Explorer 5+ (PC and Mac)
PC
Hold down the ALT key, press the number or letter of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER.
 
Mac
Hold down the CTRL key and press the number or letter of the access key.

Mozilla (PC and Mac)
PC
Hold down the ALT key, press the number or letter of the access key.
 
Mac
Hold down the CTRL key and press the number or letter of the access key.

Netscape 7 (PC)
Hold down the ALT key and press the number or letter of the access key.
 
Opera (PC)
Hold down the SHIFT and ESC keys, release them and then press the number or letter of the access key.

If you are using screen-reading software, you may wish to skip past certain links (for example, navigation links) once you become familiar with the sections of the website. Options have been built in to each page to enable you to skip past links directly to page content or to input forms.

To skip directly to the content, the "Skip to content" link at the top of each page or the "S" access key can be used. The "I" access key can be used to skip directly to input forms on a page.



Change text size

You can change the size of the text to suit your viewing preferences. To change the text size in the most commonly used browsers, follow the instructions below:

Internet Explorer
On the top menu bar of the browser, go to View → Text Size, then select the required text size.
 
Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape
On the top menu bar of the browser, go to "View" then select "Text Zoom" or "Text size", and choose the required text size.

PC Keyboard shortcuts
Hold down the CTRL key and press + to make the text bigger, - to make the text smaller, or 0 for normal text size.
 
Mac Keyboard shortcuts
Hold down the Command key and press + to make the text bigger, - to make the text smaller, or 0 for normal text size.

Opera
On the top menu bar of the browser, go to View → Zoom, and choose the required text size.

PC Keyboard shortcuts
Press 0 to make the text bigger, or - to make the text smaller.



Customise the style sheet or use an alternative style sheet

You can view the website without its default style sheet, or with your own style sheet. This is how you do so in the most commonly used browsers:

Internet Explorer
PC
On the top menu bar, go to Tools → Internet Options and then click on the "Accessibility" button. Click the top three boxes in the popup window. If you wish to use your own style sheet, this can be done by following the instructions in the bottom half of the popup window.
 
Mac
On the top menu bar, go to Explorer → Preferences → Web Browser → Web Content. In the "Page Content" area, clear the checkboxes next to the items to be enabled or disabled, including the style sheet.

Firefox
PC
For a plain layout (no style sheets), on the top menu bar, go to View → Page Style, then select "No Style". For other text and color changes, go to Tools → Options. Click on the "General" icon on the left and then on the "Fonts & Colors" button on the right.
 
Mac
For a plain layout (no style sheets), on the top menu bar, go to View → Page Style, then select "No Style". For other text and color changes, go to Firefox → Preferences. Click on the "General" icon on the left and then on the "Fonts & Colors" button on the right.

Opera
Opera provides a special "Accessibility Layout" that benefits web users with disabilities. To use this layout, on the top menu bar, go to View → Style and then select Accessibility layout.
PC
For a plain layout (no style sheets), on the top menu bar, go to View → Style and then select "User mode". For other text and color changes, go to File → Preferences. Then, click on "Fonts and Colors".
 
Mac
For a plain layout (no style sheets), on the top menu bar, go to View → Style and then select "User mode". For other text and color changes, go to Opera → Preferences. Then, click on "Fonts and Colors".

If you are using another browser, check its Help facility to find out how to change or disable the style sheet.
